Dr Maria Georgiou, PhD – Senior Scientist – Newcells Biotech

Dr. Maria Georgiou is a Senior Scientist at Newcells Biotech Ltd, specializing in stem cell research and retinal biology. She holds a PhD from Newcastle University and brings over eight years of experience in developing in vitro models to support drug discovery. Dr. Georgiou has expertise in iPSC-derived retinal models, contributing to advancements in assay development, gene  therapies and disease modelling helping to enhance the translational relevance of preclinical research.
